Network of Excellence

This report is a survey of existing tools for the analysis and the simulation of stochastic hybrid systems. Given the high degree of generality of the stochastic hybrid framework and the relative novelty of the field, few full-blown, broadly applicable tools are expected to exist. Literature review confirmed this idea. Most of the available techniques dedicated to stochastic hybrid systems analysis deal with particular model subclasses, and have been demonstrated on specific case studies. On the other hand, fairly general techniques for stochastic simulation are essentially adaptations of tools developed for deterministic hybrid systems. In light of the above considerations, included in the report is a discussion of analysis and simulation techniques from the literature that are sufficiently mature to be implemented in the near future in the form of general software tools.
